Amara Quilt Vest
My part in this group project was the sustainability research. I looked into eco friendly materials, dug into circular design principles, and made sure the choices we made actually backed up what we said we stood for.
What if waste could become something personal?
The Amara Quilt Vest started with a pretty simple question: what if leftover fabric from the fashion industry could become something really personal? We developed it as part of the Smart Design project, and honestly, it turned into so much more than we expected.
We used deadstock fabrics and recycled cotton. Stuff that would have ended up in a landfill. Every quilted panel comes from a different roll of rescued fabric, so no two vests look exactly the same. We actually love that about it.
Every vest is one of a kind, because no two rolls of rescued fabric are ever the same.
From rescued fabric to your wardrobe, and back again
I mapped out the entire supply chain for Amara from start to finish. The diagram below shows every step: where we source our recycled fabrics, how they get transported, where production happens at Polopiqué in Portugal, and how the finished vests reach our customers.
We also thought about the end of life. Worn out vests can be returned to us and sent back to our manufacturer, who shreds them into new recycled yarn. Customers who return their vest get credit toward their next purchase. The whole chain is designed to be a loop, not a line.
Finding a production partner who genuinely cares
We spent a lot of time finding the right production partner. It had to be someone who genuinely cared about the same things we did. We ended up working with Polopiqué in Portugal, where fair wages, safe working conditions, and environmental standards are just how they operate.
Each vest also comes with its own Digital Product Passport. You can scan it and see where your fabrics came from, who made your vest, and how to take care of it properly. We wanted full transparency, because we think you should know exactly what you are wearing.
Curious where your vest actually comes from? Scan this code and discover the full story behind your Amara: every fabric, every hand that touched it, and how to keep it beautiful for years.

A vest that feels like it was always meant for you
This is the part that really sets Personally Yours apart. You get to pick your own fabric combination from whatever deadstock panels are available, and then add custom embroidery. Your initials, a meaningful date, someone's name. It makes the vest feel like it is actually yours.
It also makes for a pretty amazing gift. A handmade, sustainable vest with someone's name stitched right into it? That is the kind of thing people hold on to.
Sustainable fashion should feel personal. That is the whole idea behind Personally Yours.
